How many shirts do I need for a T-shirt quilt?
The number of shirts depends on the quilt size you choose, please see the list above. Each side of the shirts counts as one shirt.
How long does it take to make a T-shirt quilt?
Turnaround time is typically 2–3 months from the time your shirts are received. This may increase during busy periods, so ordering early is recommended. If you need your quilt by a certain date, please reach out before ordering.
Do I need to cut or prepare my shirts before sending them?
No, please do not cut your shirts. All preparation and cutting will be done during the design process to ensure the best layout and finished quilt. We cannot take your order if your shirts are cut.
What types of clothing can be used in a T-shirt quilt?
We CAN use dry fit and cotton shirts. Please message before sending non-T-shirt items.
We CANNOT use items like:
baby clothes, onesies
thick embroidery / 3D items
rhinestones, buttons
button-up baseball jerseys with designs on both sides
How does the design process work?
After your shirts are received and prepped into quilt blocks, I will personally design your quilt layout and send images of the layout and options for backing and binding for your approval before the quilt is completed.
Will I get to approve my quilt design?
Yes! You will review and approve your quilt layout before I begin final construction.
When is the final payment due?
The remaining balance plus shipping is due once your quilt is completed and ready to ship.
Where are your T-shirt quilts made?
Each custom T-shirt quilt is handcrafted in Floresville, Texas in a clean, smoke-free studio by Kristin Blandford Designs.
How are the quilts made?
Each quilt is constructed with three layers, including natural cotton batting, and professionally quilted on a longarm machine. Quilts are finished with tight, even stitching and a double-fold coordinating binding for durability.
How should I care for my T-shirt quilt?
Wash on delicate and tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not use fabric softener, especially if your quilt includes minky backing.
What do I need to include when placing my order?
Please include your quilt size and phone number at checkout for layout approval. After ordering, follow the instructions provided to send your shirts.
What is the largest quilt size you offer?
We currently offer up to XL Twin size (up to 35 shirts) due to machine capacity limitations.
